Lake Clifton Golf Course

This 18 hole golf course is located in Clifton Park’s 266 acres, the original grounds of Johns Hopkins’ Clifton Mansion.

Clifton Mansion

Tour this mansion purchased in 1852 by Johns Hopkins and renovated into an Italianate Villa. The view from the approximately 80 ft high tower of the villa that was sited on a prominent hill is truly extraordinary. Friends of Clifton Mansion coordinate guided tours.

Tennis Courts

12 lighted tennis courts are located next to Clifton Mansion in Clifton Park bordering Mayfield’s west side.

Herring Run Watershed

These stream-lined trails are frequented by bikers, hikers, and dog walkers of Mayfield. This large area extends from Baltimore County near Goucher Blvd. and Joppa Road running south all the way to the North Point Blvd. It contains about 41 miles of stream bed.

Herring Run Park follows the stream continuously from Hillen (near Morgan State Univ.) running along Mayfield’s west side and continuing appox. 6 miles to Pulaski Highway.

Bikers enjoy the 1.25 mile ride around Lake Montebello

Lake Montebello: Run, Bike or Rollerblade

Located on Mayfield’s north side, Lake Montebello is a 7 acre reservoir that is part of Baltimore City’s water system. The 1.25 mile circumference offers separate lanes for walkers and bikers.

15 million dollar capital expenditure in 2007 brought a new fence, historic light standards, and planted median for recreational safety. These improvements came as a direct result of a few talented and dedicated Mayfield residents and the leadership of the Mayfield Improvement Association over the course of 3 years.

Hooper Memorial Field

Friar Jack Hooper Memorial Field located along Mayfield’s east side. A favorite place for residents to exercise their dog, practice their 7 iron, or toss the Frisbee. With six soccer field and several baseball diamonds, the field is used year around by Mayfield residents and the communities nearby.
